Xavi Hernandez Is Clear: This is How the Next FC Barcelona Coach Should Be
The Barcelona coach was asked to give names of who should be his replacement. He didn't give names, but he did say what qualities they should have
Xavi Hernández appeared before the media ahead of the match between FC Barcelona and Getafe, and the headline of the day came when he was asked about how the next coach of the blaugrana team should be.
"I have an opinion, but in the end it's the sports director, Deco, and the president who have to decide. For me, they should have a continuation of the Barça DNA. I can't give you names," said the coach from Terrassa.
Xavi Hernández also stated that the blaugrana team cannot "fail again at home" and this Saturday in the league against Getafe at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, they will face "an important match to cut points" from the top two teams.
"Until we can mathematically, we will fight for LaLiga. We can't fail again at home, like in the last games against Villarreal and Granada. Tomorrow we have an important match to cut points. We don't throw in the towel, but we know it's tough," said the Terrassa coach on Friday.
From the press room of the Joan Gamper Sports City, Xavi stated that getting the three points and temporarily moving into second position would provide "tranquility" and would be a way to "put more pressure" on Real Madrid and Girona.
Asked about Robert Lewandowski's goal-scoring streak, who has scored five goals in four games, he said it's a "consequence of the team's improvement" in aspects such as defensive and offensive positioning, which has allowed him to have "more chances" and "more effectiveness".
