Influencer Breaks Silence on Lamine Yamal's Controversial Birthday Party
The luxury party of Lamine Yamal for his 18th birthday has sparked debate due to controversial restrictions and questionable practices.
A Private Celebration Under Fire
Lamine Yamal, forward for Barcelona, celebrated his 18th birthday with a lavish party that has quickly drawn public scrutiny. The festivities began with a family lunch at the exclusive restaurant La Cúpula del Garraf and continued at a luxurious mansion in Olivella with a gangster-themed party attended by about 200 guests, including teammates, influencers, singers, and close friends.
However, what was supposed to be a private and glamorous gathering became a source of backlash. One of the most criticized aspects was the inclusion of individuals with dwarfism for entertainment purposes. This practice was denounced by the Association of People with Achondroplasia and Other Skeletal Dysplasias with Dwarfism (ADEE) as discriminatory and offensive.
Influencer Shares Her Experience and Guest Restrictions
Journalist Javier de Hoyos shared on TikTok that a popular Spanish influencer with millions of followers was invited to the event, despite not being close to Yamal. The influencer requested to bring a guest but was denied permission to attend with a male companion. Frustrated by this rule, she declined the invitation, unwilling to go alone.
Additionally, guests were prohibited from using cell phones during the party. According to the report, this measure was intended to prevent photos or videos from being shared, especially due to the presence of many well-known personalities. The no-phone policy was described as a “code” meant to allow guests to enjoy the party without concerns about privacy breaches.
Luxury and Exclusivity or Discrimination?
While some defended the measures as a way to ensure exclusivity and protect guests’ privacy, others criticized the rules as elitist and the entertainment choices as offensive. The birthday party of Lamine Yamal became more than just a celebration—it sparked a broader conversation about inclusion and respect.
With the controversy still unfolding, Yamal, one of Barcelona’s brightest young stars, now finds himself in the spotlight both on and off the pitch.
