“Adiós Apache”: Carlos Tevez Plans His Final Show At La Bombonera

  • Under the slogan “From Ball Boy to Legend,” Carlos Tevez has officially confirmed his farewell match. The celebration could take place in December and bring together around 60 stars from the world of football.

It's no longer just a rumor or an unfulfilled wish from a club legend. Carlos Tevez has confirmed his farewell match at La Bombonera, under a name that captures his entire journey: “Adiós Apache.”

“Carlitos says goodbye, the Apache says goodbye,” the former striker announced on social media. The presentation also featured another meaningful phrase: “From Ball Boy to Legend.”

The official image brings together two versions of Tevez: the young boy who once looked up to La 12 with admiration and the club icon who would eventually wear Boca Juniors' number 10 shirt and captain's armband.

“La Bombonera Is Your Home”: Riquelme's Message To Tevez

Plans for the tribute began to take shape when Carlitos contacted Juan Román Riquelme to request the stadium.

The Boca president's response was reportedly short and emphatic: “La Bombonera is your home.”

The match is expected to take place in December 2026, although the exact date, ticket sales and final list of participants have yet to be confirmed.

Could Messi And Cristiano Ronaldo Reunite For Tevez's Farewell?

Organizers are planning to bring together around 60 footballers. One idea would see a team made up of Tevez's friends from football and his neighborhood face a squad of former teammates and international stars.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo top the fans' dream guest list.

Carlitos played alongside Messi for the Argentina national team and won the Premier League and Champions League alongside the Portuguese superstar at Manchester United.

Other potential guests include Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes, Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Pirlo, Ángel Di María and Juan Román Riquelme himself.

For now, none of these names has been officially confirmed.

Maradona And Riquelme: La Bombonera's Other Historic Farewells

La Bombonera has already hosted two unforgettable tributes.

Diego Maradona held his farewell match in 2001, with the legendary Pelé watching from a VIP box and stars such as Riquelme, Carlos Valderrama, Enzo Francescoli, Hristo Stoichkov, Eric Cantona and René Higuita, famous for his iconic scorpion kick.

In 2023, it was Riquelme's turn. The Boca legend wore the number 10 shirt once again, with Messi as the guest of honor in front of a packed stadium.

“Adiós Apache”: The Final Chapter Of Tevez's Boca Juniors Story

Tevez will now take center stage for another special night. The Apache made 279 appearances, scored 94 goals and won 11 titles with Boca.

Five years after his retirement, he will return to the pitch that shaped his life. There will be no league points at stake, but La Bombonera will be ready to show its gratitude.

“Adiós Apache” will bring a story full circle, from a ball boy gazing toward the stands to a legend receiving his final standing ovation.
