Lens Face a Draw in Le Havre Before Their Champions League Clash with PSV
The two-game winning streak that Lens had embarked on in the last two matchdays came to a halt at the Oceane stadium in Le Havre (0-0), where they were unable to secure a victory and extend their climb up the Ligue 1 standings.
Frank Haise's team, who are rivals of Sevilla in the Champions League and lead the group, couldn't get past the recently promoted squad managed by Slovenian Luka Elsner. Despite playing at home, Elsner's team managed to put an end to their poor run of results.
Lens did find the net through Florian Sotoca in added time, but the goal was disallowed by VAR due to an obvious offside. This saved Le Havre from suffering their third consecutive defeat.
The point provides some relief for the visiting team, which is still far from the relegation zone. However, it doesn't help Lens, who had previously defeated Toulouse and Strasbourg. The international break interrupted Haise's team's winning streak, as they are now far from the positions they held last season when they secured a place in the Champions League.
Currently, Lens, who haven't lost in four games, sits in fourteenth place, just two points above the relegation zone.
