Arsène Wenger, Pessimistic about Arsenal’s Title Chances
Arsène Wenger, the legendary former Arsenal manager from 1996 to 2018, has expressed skepticism about the Gunners' chances of winning the 2024-2025 Premier League. Although Mikel Arteta’s team currently sits in second place, seven points behind leaders Liverpool after 25 matches, the French coach believes a comeback will be difficult.

In an interview with beIN SPORTS, Wenger explained that he finds it hard to imagine Liverpool dropping enough points for Arsenal to catch up in the standings. “They’ve played 25 matches and have only lost once. They would need to lose at least three more in the remaining 13 games, and right now that seems unlikely unless they completely collapse,” said the 75-year-old manager.
"I pray for Arsenal, but I need to improve my prayers"
Wenger also pointed out that while Arsenal is having a great season, they will need a perfect run to have a chance at the title. “There is a clear favorite, and Arsenal must win all their matches to have a shot. I pray, I pray... but I think I need to improve the quality of my prayers,” joked the current FIFA Director of Global Football Development.
Despite Wenger's skepticism, Mikel Arteta and his players continue to fight for the Premier League title, hoping Liverpool stumbles in the final stretch of the season. Only time will tell if Arsenal can end their title drought, which dates back to 2004, when Wenger led the legendary "Invincibles" team to their last league triumph.
