Elon Musk Considering Buying Liverpool
Tech magnate Elon Musk is reportedly considering the possibility of purchasing Liverpool, the current leader of the Premier League, according to an interview with his father on a British radio show.
Family Connection to Liverpool
When asked on Times Radio if his son, owner of Tesla, SpaceX, and the social media platform X, would be interested in making an offer to join the 'Reds' club, Errol Musk, Elon’s father, responded, "He (Elon Musk) would like to, yes. Obviously. Anyone would want to do it, and I would too!" According to Errol Musk, the family has a strong connection to Liverpool, as Elon’s paternal grandmother, Cora Amelia Robinson, was born in the city before moving to South Africa.
Errol Musk also expressed concerns that the current owners of the club, Fenway Sports Group, might raise the selling price if they find out about Elon’s interest.
Previous Interest in Football Clubs
This isn't the first time Elon Musk has shown interest in owning a football club. In 2022, following Manchester United's loss to Brentford, he joked on social media about buying the club. While he clarified at the time that he wasn’t actively looking to acquire a team, he mentioned that if he had to choose, he would favor Manchester United.
