Rarely Heard: Huge Compliment from Guardiola
The Manchester City coach praised Rodri especially for his great performance against Aston Villa and also had kind words for Foden, who scored a hat-trick.
Manchester City dominated Aston Villa (4-1) in a match where Phil Foden's performance stood out, scoring a hat-trick. However, the highest praise from Pep Guardiola was reserved for Rodri.
The Spanish midfielder scored the first goal for the Cityzens and once again showcased his mastery in the midfield for Manchester. Pep couldn't help but shower him with praise.
"Other teams don't have players like him. Rodri is very good in many aspects. He has presence, physicality... everything. He's very complete. His signing was incredible for City," Guardiola stated in the post-match press conference.
Currently, Rodri boasts 43 games without defeat both with City and the Spanish national team. For Pep, it's no coincidence. "Rodri is the best. In his position, he's the best. He can do it all. He has the quality to read the game, he has the right mentality, he's always ready. Rodri is top, top," the coach insisted.
Foden also received praise
"In the coming years, he can do whatever he wants, he's a top-level player. We know that, but he keeps an open mind and has to understand the game, focus on the pressure and what we have to do exactly, but he has natural talent. A gift. He's special, he's fast. His work ethic is incredible, and he also has a nose for goal."
