Rice to Play with a Broken Toe
Declan Rice, Arsenal midfielder, will attempt to play with a broken big toe this weekend against Chelsea.
The English footballer missed Wednesday's defeat to Inter Milan after breaking his big toe in last weekend’s match against Newcastle United.
Rice has been unable to train this week due to the injury, but he will try to play on Sunday against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Following this, he will join England's squad for matches against Greece and the Republic of Ireland, in which Lee Carsley's team will be aiming for promotion to League A in the Nations League.
The midfielder has played thirteen matches for Arsenal this season, with one goal and two assists. He has only missed the match against Inter, a win against Tottenham due to suspension, and the round of 16 in the Cup against Preston North End for rest.
Arsenal is experiencing a slight slump after three consecutive Premier League games without a win and suffering their first Champions League defeat of the season against Inter.
If they lose to Chelsea and Liverpool beats Aston Villa on Saturday, Arsenal would fall ten points behind the 'Reds' in the standings.
