The former Dutch player is close to returning to Manchester United as Ten Hag's assistant.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy is very close to returning to Manchester United, this time as an assistant coach to Erik Ten Hag. Van Nistelrooy would be coming back to the place he called home for five years, where he won the hearts of the “Red Devils” fans.
Although Van Nistelrooy was looking for a new solo adventure, the ambition of Manchester United's new project with his fellow Dutchman, Erik Ten Hag, caught his attention. He ultimately decided to join the project, and now only his signature is needed to make it official.
Van Nistelrooy also had offers from other clubs, mainly from the Netherlands and England. Brighton was a strong contender for the Dutch coach, but the love and the project at United won out in the end.
