Vlahovic Matches Carlos Tevez's Goal Record for Juventus
Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic scored his 50th goal for Juventus against Lille in the Champions League, matching the tally of Argentine star Carlos Tevez, one of the most beloved players in recent club history.
That clutch penalty kick against the French side, which secured a final equalizer, brought Vlahovic’s total to 50 goals since he joined the 'Old Lady' in January 2022 from Fiorentina.
He’s now on par with 'El Apache' Tevez, although Tevez reached the mark in fewer games. Vlahovic took 116 matches to hit the 50-goal milestone, averaging a goal every 168 minutes, while Tevez did it in 96 games with an average of one goal every 155 minutes.
“I'm really happy to score my 50th goal with Juventus, but also a bit frustrated we couldn’t win. We had the game under control in a tough stadium against a team that’s racked up points here. We played well, aggressively, and I feel we could’ve won after the equalizer," he said after the match against Lille.
Next up on his target list are Italian Gianluca Vialli with 53 goals and Spaniard Álvaro Morata with 59.
Meanwhile, David Trezeguet’s 171 goals stand out as the top foreign scorer for Juve, and way up top is Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero with 290 goals—who, interestingly enough, shares the same goal-per-minute ratio as Vlahovic so far.
