Cédric Bakambu: From Galatasaray to LaLiga via AFCON
The Congolese forward is leaving the Süper Lig after signing with Real Betis, where he will join once his journey in the Africa Cup of Nations ends.
French forward Cédric Bakambu has been registered in LaLiga as the new signing for Real Betis, coming from Turkish club Galatasaray.
Bakambu, 32, who is familiar with La Liga from his time at Villarreal (2015-18), joins Betis on a free transfer and has been the latest signing of the winter transfer window registered by LaLiga, just a minute before the deadline.
Born in France, he is an international player for the Democratic Republic of Congo, currently participating in the Africa Cup of Nations. In fact, this Friday he plays in the quarter-finals against Guinea, a match you can follow on beIN SPORTS.
This marks the end of Bakambu's short spell at Galatasaray, where he arrived in July 2023 and has only been with the club for half a season.
