Fenerbahce Secure Victory Against Besiktas, Hold onto Leadership
Fenerbahçe emerged victorious with a 3-1 win against Beşiktaş in the 15th matchday of the Turkish Super Lig, defeating their historic rival after seven matches.
The Yellow Canaries, who started the game efficiently at Tüpraş Stadium, took the lead with a goal from Edin Dzeko in the 10th minute. Beşiktaş equalized with a penalty goal from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the 24th minute after a foul inside the box by Alexander Djiku, and the first half ended with this scoreline.
In the second half, Fenerbahce regained the lead with a penalty goal from Dusan Tadic in the 63rd minute. Despite their dominance, the yellow-blues couldn't capitalize on numerous clear goal-scoring opportunities and a penalty. Still, they secured a 3-1 victory with Sebastian Szymanski's goal in the 90+6th minute, leaving the field triumphant.
With this result, Fenerbahce solidifies their position as the leader in the Turkish Super Lig, reaching 40 points, the same as Galatasaray. Only goal difference keeps the Yellow Canaries at the top.
