Galatasaray Secure Signings of Carlos Vinicius and Serge Aurier
On Friday, Istanbul's Galatasaray announced the signings of Brazilian forward Carlos Vinícius, formerly with the British club Fulham, and Ivorian defender Serge Aurier, who played for Nottingham Forest.
For Vinícius, a 28-year-old player with experience at Napoli, Benfica, Monaco, and PSV Eindhoven, the move is a loan, as explained by the Turkish club in a statement on their website. Galatasaray will pay the player a net amount of 600,000 euros until the end of the 2024 season, with Fulham receiving the same sum for the temporary transfer.
As for Aurier, a 31-year-old player from the Ivory Coast and a member of the national team, his contract will also last until the end of the current season, but, in this case, it involves a permanent transfer. Galatasaray will pay 100,000 euros to Nottingham Forest for the acquisition. The Ivorian player will receive 150,000 euros for completing the transfer, along with a guaranteed salary of 600,000 euros until the end of the season, as stated by the Turkish club in another announcement.
Galatasaray pocketed 5 million euros for the sale of Congolese player Cédric Bakambu to Real Betis, with an additional 5.05 million euros possible through a bonus based on objectives, as explained by the club.
Currently, Galatasaray stands in second place in the Turkish Super League, sharing the same points with their eternal rival Fenerbahçe. Both teams have a significant lead over the rest of their competitors.
