Guardiola Laments Manchester City's Poor Form After Feyenoord Draw
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, expressed his frustration after his team’s 3-3 draw with Feyenoord, calling it "a defeat" due to their inability to maintain control after leading 3-0.
"We were playing well, 3-0 up, but then we conceded too many goals. Right now, we’re not stable. We gifted them the first goal, then others followed, and that’s why it’s so difficult," Guardiola said in an Amazon Prime interview following the match, in which City let a three-goal lead slip in the final 15 minutes.
Guardiola continued, highlighting the team's recent struggles: "We’ve lost many games lately, we’re fragile, and we need a win. The game was good for our confidence, we played at a high level, but something’s wrong, and now we’re in trouble. I don’t know if it’s a mental issue. The first goal shouldn’t have happened, and neither should the second. After that, we don’t know what’s going on. We’re desperate to win, to do things right, but it’s not happening."
He added, "There are many things we’re doing well, but with the 3-3 draw, there’s nothing more to say. At this level, you can’t give away so much. In a different environment, it wouldn’t happen, but right now, it’s happening." Guardiola’s City side will head to Anfield this Sunday, trailing by eight points in the Premier League, having endured five losses and a draw in their last six matches.
