Hansi Flick Applauds Barcelona’s Comeback in the Champions League
Barcelona’s coach, Hansi Flick, pointed out that scoring a second goal just before halftime was a key factor in their Champions League win against Red Star (2-5).
"That second goal was huge. We scored first, then they equalized, but the team responded really well. It’s awesome because we’re a young squad, and we need to keep improving every game," said the German coach.
Flick also highlighted full-back Jules Kounde, who racked up three assists tonight, calling him "a great example" in the locker room. He explained why he subbed out striker Robert Lewandowski in the second half, who scored twice and was just one goal away from hitting 100 in the Champions League: "We’ve got to keep an eye on the upcoming games."
Summing up, Flick said he’s "having a great time with the team" and that "the results speak for themselves." "The players really bring our game plan to life on the field. They’re super competitive and love going up against any team. They’re confident, and I hope they can keep this pace, even though it’s tough with so many games," he added.
