Robert Lewandowski Praises Barcelona Winning Streak on the Road
Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski highlighted his team’s win over Red Star in Belgrade (2-5), saying, “Winning away games is huge at this stage of the Champions League.”
Lewandowski admitted that Barça’s first-half play was “a bit slow,” but everything turned around after halftime. “We played really well and took our chances. We always had the game under control,” he told Movistar+.
The Polish No. 9 bagged a brace, putting him at 99 Champions League goals—just one away from the big 100—which he said felt “really good.”
“Sometimes, when a team like Red Star plays defensively, a forward like me just has to be patient to find those open spaces,” he explained. Overall, Lewandowski is happy with the team’s level of play: “This season, we’re playing very offensively and scoring a lot, but our defense is holding up really well, too. So far, everything’s clicking almost perfectly.”
