Manchester City embarked on their journey to Madrid on Monday for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals without Kyle Walker or Nathan Aké, both injured.
Walker, who did individual work on Monday apart from the group, and Aké, who did not train, were left out of the squad. However, Josko Gvardiol, who was also absent from training as a precaution after being substituted at halftime during the victory against Crystal Palace, made the list.
Walker's absence at right-back leaves Rico Lewis as the only natural option for that position, although Pep Guardiola could also choose to deploy Manuel Akanji there, the fastest man in his defense, to contain Vinícius Júnior.
The complete City squad list is as follows: Rúben Dias, John Stones, Mateo Kovacic, Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, Jeremy Doku, Rodrigo, Kevin De Bruyne, Stefan Ortega Moreno, Julian Álvarez, Bernardo Silva, Sergio Gómez, Josko Gvardiol, Manuel Akanji, Matheus Nunes, Ederson, Scott Carson, Phil Foden, Oscar Bobb, Mahamadou Susoho, and Rico Lewis.
