Raphinha Speaks Out After Controversial Goal Against Borussia Dortmund in Champions League
Raphinha found the net once again in the UEFA Champions League against Borussia Dortmund, taking his goal tally in the current edition of the tournament to 12. His goal was nearly ruled out due to a possible offside, but the VAR allowed it to stand. The Brazilian admitted he felt anxious during the review and even apologized to Cubarsí for taking what could have been his goal.

"I was quite worried about whether I was offside or not. I wasn’t sure. I told Cubarsí that I had touched the ball before the line and that the goal might be mine. I apologized, but he told me it was fine and to credit him with the assist," said Raphinha, who added, "It was a quick moment, I thought the ball might go out or not," and confessed, "It was a bit about wanting to score goals."
Barça's Attacking Trio Hitting Peak Form
When asked about the excellent form of the attacking trio alongside Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal, the Brazilian responded, "I love playing with high-level players," and emphasized, "We're putting up spectacular numbers and I hope we continue like this."
The trio has now recorded 27 goals in this season’s Champions League, with Raphinha currently leading the scoring charts, just one goal ahead of Lewandowski.
Raphinha Refuses to Declare the Tie Over
While many believe the tie is already decided, the winger refused to consider the semifinal spot secured: "I won’t say that. There’s another game to play, and it’s always tough to win over there. In front of their fans, they’re a team with quality and it's never easy to beat them. We’ve earned a good result and we have to keep going," the Barcelona forward concluded.
There has only been one comeback from a four-goal deficit in Champions League history, and it was by Barcelona against PSG in the 2016–17 season. So, barring a disaster, the Catalan side looks set for the semifinals.
