Bruno Fernandes and Portugal Dream of the Euro 2024
The experience at Old Trafford contrasts with his time with the Portuguese team, where Bruno Fernandes has been a cornerstone under manager Roberto Martínez.
At 29 years old, Fernandes contributed six goals and eight assists to Portugal's near-perfect qualification phase for the 2024 Euro Cup in Germany: ten games, ten wins, 36 goals scored, and only two conceded.
"It was undoubtedly the best qualification I've experienced, but also the best for the team," he commented, highlighting "a series of factors that bring out the best in me."
Among them, he mentioned the "support" from his teammates, which makes his "qualities stand out."
Portugal will start preparing for the Euro Cup with matches against Sweden on Thursday in Guimarães (northern Portugal) and on Tuesday, the 26th, against Slovenia in Ljubljana.
Regarding the tournament, Bruno Fernandes made it clear that their aim is to repeat Portugal's 2016 triumph: "The dream is very present in our minds... We want to bring that joy back."
