Travis Kelce Inks a HUGE Extension With the Chiefs
Travis Kelce, the man who's nabbed three Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs, just became the highest-paid tight end in the NFL, scoring a fresh two-year deal worth a whopping $34 million.
Kelce's gonna be raking in $17.12 million per season, all thanks to the slick negotiations of his agent, Mike Simon. "The ink's dry on a new deal with the greatest tight end of all time," the Kansas City Chiefs proudly announced across their socials.
Travis Kelce, a shoo-in for the Hall of Fame, not only played a key role in snagging Super Bowls LIV, LVII, and LVIII with the Chiefs but has also scored nine Pro Bowl nods.
Kelce got records for days, like the most consecutive seasons with over a thousand receiving yards, a streak he rocked from 2016 to 2022; highest yards per catch in a season, tallying up 1,416; and the most games with over 100 receiving yards, notching 37; among other jaw-dropping stats.
In his 11 seasons in the NFL, Kelce has caught 907 passes for 11,328 yards and 74 touchdowns, stats that've earned him nine Pro Bowl nods and four first-team All-Pro selections.
He's part of the 2010s NFL All-Decade Team and, at 34, is still considered the top tight end in the game. Hailing from Westlake, Ohio, Kelce was drafted by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2013 Draft out of Cincinnati Bearcats. With this latest deal announced on Monday, he's inching closer to fulfilling his dream of wrapping up his career with the Chiefs, the team that gave him his NFL shot.
Kelce's not just known for his on-field prowess; his fame skyrocketed last year off the field thanks to his cozy relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift, who was seen cheering him on at several regular-season games right up to their triumph in Super Bowl LVIII this past February.
