This Madrid Legend Says The Team Is Obliged to Win
Claude Makelele, former Real Madrid player, asserted that Carlo Ancelotti's team has an "obligation" in finals: to win.
The French midfielder, who won the Champions League with Real Madrid in 2002, spoke to the media this Friday at an event in London.
"This team is Real Madrid. It wins many titles because it's a symbol, a jersey. You only have one obligation: when you reach a final, you win it. It doesn't matter if you play well or badly, because what's important is to win. I think this will be a difficult match for Real Madrid, because if Dortmund loses, it's okay, it's against Madrid," said the Frenchman.
Regarding Dortmund, Real Madrid's opponent this Saturday, Makelele said he is not surprised they are in the final.
"I love this team because they are humble, they play as a group, they are united. There are no big names or big stars. Madrid has to be careful because Dortmund has a great history in Germany," added the Frenchman.
