Barcelona's New Shirt for El Clásico: Featuring Karol G!
FC Barcelona announced this Friday that the first football team will sport the logo of Colombian artist Karol G on the jersey for the LaLiga EA Sports classic, which will take place on April 21 at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Karol G's distinctive thorned heart logo will replace Spotify's logo on the front of the blue and maroon jersey in the match against Real Madrid.
Karol G's emblem will also feature prominently on the jersey of the first women's team for the Liga F match this Saturday against Villarreal at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.
This isn't the first time the blue and maroon jersey has promoted music creations in collaboration with Spotify, the club's main commercial partner.
In last season's El Clásico (2022-23), the first team already showcased the logo of Canadian singer-songwriter Drake, while in the same match of the second leg, they featured the emblem of 'Motomami', the latest album by
Spanish artist Rosalía.
In the first leg of the Barça-Madrid match held on October 28, the logo of the Rolling Stones' tongue and lips adorned the front of the blue and maroon jersey.
To mark the latest collaboration with Karol G, the club will release two exclusive editions of the jersey for sale: a total of 1899 limited units of the jersey and another 22 pieces with the signatures of the starting players in the matches of the male and female teams.
Additionally, the artist's website has also released a limited edition of t-shirts, hoodies, scarves, caps, and water bottles that combine Karol G's visual imagery with that of FC Barcelona.
