Flick Urges Barcelona to Show "More Fighting Spirit" Amid Results Crisis
Hansi Flick, coach of FC Barcelona, has called on his players to demonstrate greater "fighting mentality" to overcome their recent slump in form. Barcelona has collected just four points from a possible 12 in LaLiga EA Sports during November. Speaking at a press conference ahead of their match against Mallorca, Flick emphasized the need for sharper focus, particularly in attack, to return to winning ways.
Más actitud y aprendizaje en un equipo joven
Flick pointed out that his squad is the youngest in the league, which naturally comes with opportunities for improvement.
"As a player, I hated losing, and I still hate it now. As a team, we need to have more of that fighting mentality to win games. On the pitch, we sometimes do well, but there’s still room to improve," said the German coach.
He also addressed the team’s struggles with finishing:
"The team has given a lot at the start of the season. We’ve shown intensity and created chances, but the good news is we can keep creating opportunities. What we lack is converting them."
Refereeing Decisions and Team Updates
When asked about the controversial match against Las Palmas, where Barcelona claimed two unawarded penalties, Flick downplayed the impact of officiating decisions:
"Those things don’t matter much to me. I prefer to focus on our performance."
Looking ahead to the match against Mallorca, Flick confirmed that midfielder Dani Olmo, who missed recent games due to physical issues, is fit to start. He also expressed optimism about the return of defender Ronald Araujo, who is nearing the end of his recovery from a muscular injury.
A Test at Son Moix
The clash with Mallorca, an early Matchday 19 fixture, presents a key opportunity for Barcelona to regain confidence and improve their standing in LaLiga EA Sports. With recent setbacks and the pressure of staying in the race for the top spots, Flick’s message to his players aims to reignite the team’s competitive edge in a season filled with challenges.
