Is Lamine Yamal ready for Las Palmas?
After three weeks of absence, the FC Barcelona winger should be cleared to return to competition this weekend for the match against the Canary Islands club.
Lamine Yamal is about to end his time on the sidelines. Having been spotted training the day before, the European champion fully participated in the collective session led by Hansi Flick and his coaching staff on Thursday, November 28, confirming his return to full fitness.
All signs indicate that Yamal should be available for his coach in the match against Las Palmas, scheduled for this Saturday as part of La Liga's 15th round (2:00 PM on beIN SPORTS 1). The player is now just waiting for clearance from the FC Barcelona medical team, which is expected to come soon. Yamal sustained an injury to his right ankle at the beginning of November during the match against Red Star Belgrade, and he has missed three games since then. His absence coincided with a double setback for the team in La Liga, with a loss to Real Sociedad (0-1) and a draw against Celta Vigo (2-2).
Ferran Torres also returns
And as good news rarely comes alone, Hansi Flick will also be able to call upon Ferran Torres. The Spanish international has been out for a longer period, having last played on October 6 when he had to leave the field just six minutes into the game against Deportivo Alavés due to a hamstring injury. This muscle injury has kept him out of the last eight FC Barcelona matches. Like Yamal, he is expected to receive medical clearance soon, unlike Ronald Araujo, whose return is scheduled for two weeks from now.
With both Spanish players returning, Hansi Flick will have more attacking options, which will be a challenge for their rivals, as FC Barcelona has the best attack in Europe, with 60 goals scored in 19 matches across all competitions.
