Amorim's Transfer Plan For Manchester United
Manchester United is gearing up to be one of the key players in the upcoming transfer window, aiming to reshape its squad under the guidance of Rúben Amorim. According to the Daily Mirror, the Old Trafford club will prioritize strategic sales to generate funds and create space in the team before pursuing key reinforcements.
Among the players likely to depart is Marcus Rashford, who has reportedly expressed his desire for a new challenge away from Manchester. Another notable name is Antony, for whom United spent €100 million. However, the club is willing to accept significant losses on his transfer to save on his salary and reinvest the funds in new signings.
On the other hand, the situation with Alejandro Garnacho seems different. Despite being linked with a potential exit, his continuation appears more likely due to his youth, low salary cost, and positive impact during a challenging season for the Red Devils. Moreover, with Rashford and Antony potentially leaving, Garnacho could play a crucial role in the attack.
Reinforcements on the Radar
Regarding potential signings, United has several targets in sight. To strengthen the flanks, the club is reportedly interested in Tyler Dibling, a young winger from Southampton. At 18 years old, Dibling has a market value of around €20 million, although the final price will depend on what Southampton, currently bottom of the Premier League, is willing to accept.
In the hunt for a striker, although Viktor Gyökeres has been linked to the team, his signing doesn’t seem feasible for the winter transfer window. A more realistic option is Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray. United could negotiate with Napoli to terminate his loan early and sign the forward, who would be a key addition to bolster the attacking line.
Finally, another target is Spanish left-back Álvaro Carreras, currently playing for Benfica. At 21 years old, the former Real Madrid academy player is shining in Portugal and has previous experience in Manchester United’s youth system. Sold to Benfica for €6 million, Carreras is familiar to Amorim from his time at Sporting Lisbon, making him an attractive option to strengthen the defense.
With these moves, Manchester United aims not only to address issues within its current squad but also to build a more competitive team for the second half of the season.
