UEFA has announced that the draws for the knockout play-offs of the 2024/2025 UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League will take place on Friday, January 31, 2025, at its headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. Meanwhile, the UEFA Conference League draw is scheduled for Wednesday, December 20, 2024.

Play-off Format and Structure

The top eight teams from the league phase of each competition will advance directly to the Round of 16. Teams finishing between 9th and 24th place will compete in a two-legged play-off to secure their place in the Round of 16.

The teams ranked 9th to 16th will be seeded and face those finishing 17th to 24th, with the seeded teams hosting the second leg. The matchups will be determined based on final league standings, following a preset structure:

• 9th and 10th place vs. 23rd or 24th place
• 11th and 12th place vs. 21st or 22nd place, and so on.

Clubs may face teams from the same national association or opponents they encountered during the league phase.
