LIVE! Cameroon vs. Malawi: A Historic WAFCON 2026 Final on beIN SPORTS
The WAFCON 2026 reaches its final chapter with a title match guaranteed to make history. Cameroon and Malawi face off this Sunday at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, where one of the two teams will lift the continental trophy for the first time.
Their paths to this match could hardly be more different. Cameroon return to a WAFCON final after a decade, while Malawi have turned their first-ever appearance in the tournament into an extraordinary campaign that could now end with the ultimate prize.
The match kicks off at 3:00 PM ET and will be available LIVE on beIN SPORTS and beIN SPORTS Connect
Malawi aim to complete an unforgettable debut
What began as Malawi’s first-ever appearance at a WAFCON has become one of the biggest stories in African football in 2026.
The Scorchers are the first Southern African team to reach the final on their tournament debut and only the second debutant in the competition’s history to win four matches in their first appearance.
Their biggest strength has been an attack that has continued to deliver. Malawi enter the final as the tournament’s top-scoring team with 12 goals, nine of them scored by sisters Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga.
Temwa has five goals and two assists, while Tabitha has scored four times. Both were decisive once again in the semifinal against Algeria, where Malawi claimed a 3-1 victory to extend a remarkable run that has already surpassed any expectations they had when the tournament began.

Cameroon return with unfinished business
On the other side will be a team far more accustomed to competing in the latter stages.
Cameroon will play in the fourth WAFCON final in their history, having previously reached the title match in 2004, 2014 and 2016. However, the Indomitable Lionesses are still searching for their first trophy.
Their road to Rabat has been defined by defensive strength. Cameroon have conceded only two goals throughout the entire tournament and have kept three clean sheets, including in their knockout matches.
In the semifinals, they eliminated hosts Morocco after a 0-0 draw and a 3-1 victory in the penalty shootout, with goalkeeper Michaely Bihina emerging as one of the standout performers.

Two styles and a title with a new owner
This will be the first-ever meeting between Cameroon and Malawi in WAFCON history, and the contrast between the two teams adds even more intrigue to the final.
Malawi have relied on an attacking style that has produced 12 goals, although they are yet to keep a clean sheet. Cameroon, by contrast, have scored only five times, but their defense has conceded just two goals.
One thing is already certain: Africa will have a new champion. The winner will become only the fourth nation to lift the WAFCON trophy, joining Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea and South Africa.
For Cameroon, it would mean finally winning the title after three defeats in previous finals. For Malawi, it would complete one of the most impressive debut campaigns the competition has ever seen.
