Egyptian referee Shahenda Saad Ali Elmaghrabi will officiate the grand final, an appointment that rewards her international experience and adds another chapter to a career marked by historic moments in African refereeing.

A referee with experience on the biggest stages

At 35 years old, Elmaghrabi will take part in her third consecutive Women's Africa Cup of Nations as a referee.

The Egyptian official was in charge of the third-place matches at the 2022 and 2024 editions, both of which were also held in Morocco.

She also has experience across every edition of the CAF Women's Champions League continental finals, including serving as fourth official in the competition's inaugural final in 2021.

An officiating team from eight countries

CAF assembled a multinational officiating team featuring representatives from eight African countries for the decisive match.

Mauritius' Queency Victoire will serve as the first assistant referee, while Tunisia's Houda Afine will be the second assistant. Togo's Vincentia Enyonam will act as the fourth official, with Nafissatou Yekini Shitou of Benin named as the reserve assistant referee.

Dorsaf Ganouati of Tunisia will oversee VAR, alongside Zakaria Bouchtaoui of Morocco and Leticia Antonella Viana of Eswatini. Fatou Gaye of Senegal was appointed as the referee assessor.

Everything is set for a history-making final

The final between Cameroon and Malawi will be played this Sunday, August 16, at the Stade Moulay El Hassan in Rabat, at 8:00 PM Morocco time (7:00 PM GMT).

The match will bring together two teams looking to write a new chapter in the tournament, in an edition that has once again highlighted the growth of African women's football.
