Kylian Mbappé Reflects on Position Switch at Real Madrid
Kylian Mbappé, star forward for Real Madrid, shone in Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Leganés, scoring the opener in his first match as a left winger for Los Blancos. The positional change, he explained, is just another chapter in his adaptable career.
"Good game. It started well, with rhythm alongside my teammates in a different position," Mbappé shared with Real Madrid TV. "I can play in any position—today it was different, and next time it might change again. I’m ready. This has been the story of my career: right, left, center—it doesn’t matter. I just want to play well, help the team, and score a lot of goals."
The Frenchman credited his sharp form to training in Madrid during the international break, as he was left out of France's squad for the second time in a row. "Training with the team, and even some of the Castilla players, has been great. I didn’t know many of them, but they’ve got so much quality. Physically, I feel good and ready to help the team," Mbappé said.
He also emphasized the importance of Real Madrid’s win, especially following Barcelona's 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo. "We came here to win. We knew how crucial this match was. After Barcelona’s draw, it was essential for us to capitalize. We started strong, kept good rhythm, controlled possession, and played well. Scoring the first goal was key," he concluded.
