Young FC Barcelona defender, Pau Cubarsí, suffered a significant injury during the UEFA Champions League match against Red Star Belgrade on November 6, 2024.

In a contest for the ball, Cubarsí was kicked in the face by an opposing forward, causing a deep wound on his right cheek.

Following the impact, the player fell to the ground with a bloodied face, immediately raising concerns among his teammates and coaching staff.

Medical staff quickly entered the field to attend to him, and after several minutes, Cubarsí was substituted and taken to the locker room for further evaluation.

The diagnosis revealed a deep cut requiring ten stitches. Fortunately, no fractures or more severe injuries were detected, suggesting that, despite the severity of the wound, Cubarsí could return to training in a short period, depending on his recovery and medical recommendations.

The club has stated that the player is receiving appropriate treatment and that his progress will be closely monitored to determine his availability for upcoming matches.
