A Highly Anticipated Return to Real Madrid's Squad
After recovering from a sprained left ankle that sidelined him for the last four matches of Real Madrid, French midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni is back in Carlo Ancelotti's squad for Wednesday's clash against Athletic Club at San Mamés.
Tchouaméni Ready to Hit the Pitch
Following two full training sessions with the team, Tchouaméni is back at 100%, as confirmed by Ancelotti during a press conference. However, the Italian coach did not disclose whether the Frenchman will play as a defensive midfielder or partner Antonio Rüdiger in the center-back position, where academy graduate Raúl Asencio has shined in recent games amid several injuries.
Despite Tchouaméni's return, Ancelotti will still be without Vinícius Junior, Eduardo Camavinga, Dani Carvajal, Éder Militao, and David Alaba, who remain sidelined. Meanwhile, RM Castilla right-back Lorenzo Aguado and striker Gonzalo García, who scored four goals last Saturday against Mérida with the reserve team, have been called up once again. Goalkeeper Sergio Mestre will be the third-choice keeper, replacing Fran González.
