Ancelotti Points Out The Problem Affecting Real Madrid
Carlo Ancelotti, the Italian coach of Real Madrid, analyzed the current state of his team, which is getting results but has yet to find its best form, and identified physical fitness as the main issue, stating that his players "are still not at one hundred percent."
"It's a matter of physical condition because we are not at our peak yet. We need to work on being more compact as a team. Sometimes we try to press high, but the automatism isn't fully in place yet. Although we've pressed well when opponents play out from the back with their goalkeeper, we lack solidity in the mid-block, which is where the team struggles the most," Ancelotti explained as he analyzed his squad’s performance.
The Italian coach made it clear that his current priority is to improve the defensive aspect, although he is confident in his attack, relying on the forwards in his squad, who, according to him, guarantee goals.
"We are working on the defensive side. In attack, we have many options and solutions. We’re trying to be more solid defensively. It’s true that we aren’t conceding many goals, but opponents are still creating chances. We know that when we are compact and solid, we have a better chance of winning, because sooner or later we will create opportunities to score," he added.
Ancelotti also explained that, given the little time between matches, the focus has been on improving "aspects to become more compact" and "shifting better" to enhance the connection with the forwards. "All our work is aimed at being more compact," he concluded.
