Ansu Fati Receives Medical Clearance
Good news for Barcelona: Ansu Fati has been medically cleared and will be available for this Saturday's match, December 21, against Atlético de Madrid at the Estadio Olímpico de Montjuïc. After completing a week of full training, the academy graduate is ready to return to action and strengthen Hansi Flick’s team in a crucial LaLiga clash.
The winger has recovered from a muscle injury suffered on November 13, which sidelined him for just over a month. During his recovery, Ansu worked intensively, and last Saturday, he was able to complete a full session with the group for the first time. Now, after receiving the green light from the medical staff, he is expected to be included in the squad and could play some minutes tomorrow.
This marks the second injury Ansu Fati has faced this season. In mid-July, a foot problem kept him out of action for much of the preseason, causing him to miss five matches at the start of the campaign. However, he returned in September and now looks to regain his best form after this second setback. His return is a significant boost for the team, which aims to close the year with a victory.
An injury list that still raises concerns
On the other hand, not all news is positive for Barcelona. Andreas Christensen, who has been sidelined since August with tendinopathy in his Achilles tendon, will not return until 2025 after undergoing surgery. Additionally, the club continues to deal with the absences of Lamine Yamal, Marc Bernal, and Marc-André ter Stegen due to injuries.
With Ansu Fati's return, Barcelona regains a key attacking piece and a player capable of making a difference. The academy product hopes to seize this new chapter in his career to solidify his role and help the team overcome the challenges of a demanding season.
