Florentino Pérez: "We are Living One of The Most Successful Stages in Real Madrid's History"
Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid, highlighted this Friday, in his speech during the Christmas cocktail with the media, that the club is experiencing "one of the most successful and important stages" in its history, with 57 titles won in the last 14 years.
"It has been another historic year for our club. 2024 has been a year full of titles: five in football and three in basketball. We are living one of the most successful and important stages of our history, with 57 titles in the last 14 years," said Florentino Pérez.
The president of Real Madrid also highlighted the progress of the women's team: "I want to emphasize the evolution of our women's team in these four years of league competition, being league runners-up last season and securing consecutive qualifications to the Champions League. We continue to contribute to the growth of women's football in this country."
Pérez also expressed his pride in the Santiago Bernabéu, considering that "our home has become one of the great architectural icons of Madrid and Spain. This will be very important for the future of the club."
In his speech, Florentino Pérez appealed for solidarity with those who need it most, mentioning the deceased and affected by the DANA in the Valencian Community, and highlighted the work of the Real Madrid Foundation. "This is a moment for us to keep strengthening something fundamental: solidarity. We must keep in mind the most vulnerable in our society, especially children at risk of social exclusion and our elderly," he remarked.
Finally, Pérez thanked the media for their work, recognizing their role in the club's 122 years of history. "The media have lived the day-to-day of Real Madrid, the most beloved and admired club in the world. You have helped us transmit the club's values, and we were the first club in the world to surpass 600 million followers on social media," concluded the club's president.
