Lamine Yamal Confirms He Will Extend His Contract with Barcelona
Spanish international and rising star Lamine Yamal has reaffirmed his commitment to FC Barcelona in an interview with CNN Sports, declaring his intention to renew his contract with the club he calls "the team of his life."
"I don’t know exactly when the contract will be signed, but I think it’ll happen soon," said Yamal, who is currently under contract until June 30, 2026. The 16-year-old made it clear that his top priority is to continue playing in LaLiga and representing Barcelona: "I want to play for Barça, and yes, I will renew my contract. I’m sure of it," he stated confidently.
Ready for the Supercopa
After recovering from a sprained right ankle, Lamine Yamal is set to return to action for the Spanish Super Cup, which kicks off this Wednesday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Barça will compete for the title against clubs like Real Madrid, Athletic Club, and Mallorca.
"In 2025, we’ll give it our all to win titles, starting with the Spanish Super Cup. Hopefully, it’ll be the best year of our lives," said the young forward, who proudly wears the number 19 for the Catalan side.
Confidence in LaLiga
Yamal expressed optimism about Barcelona's chances in LaLiga, despite some inconsistency this season: "We’ll win LaLiga, even against the teams we’ve struggled with before. It’s all about focus. In key moments, we’ve shown we’re the best, and we’ll keep proving it," he declared.
With his renewal on the horizon and his return to the pitch, Lamine Yamal is positioning himself as a crucial figure in the present and future of FC Barcelona.
