Real Madrid great Ramos joins Monterrey
Monterrey have signed former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain defender Sergio Ramos on a one-year contract.
Sergio Ramos has joined Liga MX club Monterrey on a free transfer.
Ramos has not had a club since he left Sevilla at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
The 38-year-old, who won 22 titles with Real Madrid, made 28 LaLiga appearances for Sevilla but has now had to leave Europe to secure a deal.
He has signed a one-year deal with Monterrey, who are 10th in Liga MX.
Ramos, who is Spain's most-capped player, has chosen 93 as his shirt number, marking the 93rd-minute goal he scored in the 2014 Champions League final, when Madrid beat city rivals Atletico Madrid.
After leaving Madrid in 2021, Ramos spent two seasons playing alongside Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain.
