Sergio Ramos is now officially a new player for Rayados Monterrey, becoming one of the most high-profile signings in Liga MX.

One of the biggest talking points was the jersey number chosen by the Spanish defender for this new chapter in his career: number 93.

A number with a rich history behind it, sure to bring fond memories to Real Madrid fans.

Ramos selected this number in honor of his legendary 93rd-minute goal in the 2014 Champions League final in Lisbon against Atlético Madrid.

That goal forced extra time, where Real Madrid ultimately defeated Atlético to secure their long-awaited "La Décima" Champions League title.
