Will Dybala Join Galatasaray? Here's What The Coach Said
Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk made important statements about the club's future during the end-of-year event organized by the Galatasaray Businessmen’s Association (GSYİAD). He addressed several key topics, including the team's goals for 2025, injuries, and the possible signing of Paulo Dybala.
Buruk emphasized that the main objective for the season is to secure Galatasaray's 25th league title. "This 2024 has been a year full of good memories for us, but our focus is on 2025 and the 25th championship. The Galatasaray team is always destined to win. That’s the only thing we think about—winning—because it always brings records, and that’s the success of this club," the coach assured. He also stressed that while he receives praise for his work, the true credit belongs to the team and everyone involved in the institution.
Regarding injuries affecting the squad, Okan Buruk explained that specific recovery work had been implemented for players like Davinson, Osimhen, and Ismail Jakobs, who have now returned to full training. "Today, they rejoined training sessions, and now we’re ready with the full squad available," he stated. However, he mentioned that Sallai remains suspended, and Icardi is still recovering from a long-term injury.
On the transfer market and rumors surrounding the potential arrival of Paulo Dybala, Buruk made it clear that the club is in constant planning mode. "The transfer market is very dynamic. It's normal for news about potential signings to emerge as the January window approaches," he noted. While he refrained from confirming any specific moves, he underlined that Galatasaray is prepared to strengthen its squad. "Our focus is now on the match against Kayserispor. After the break, we’ll have a clearer picture. The transfer window opens on January 13, and until then, we have time to assess the positions we need to strengthen," he added.
Finally, Okan Buruk concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing to work as a team and staying focused on immediate objectives. Galatasaray is gearing up for the next cycle, aiming to maintain dominance in the Turkish league and strengthen its squad during the upcoming transfer window, always looking toward the future and consolidating its status as one of the most successful clubs in the region.
