Aurelien Tchouaméni Injury: What’s the Extent and How Long Will He Be Out?
The Spanish club announced on Wednesday that the French midfielder was injured during the Champions League loss to AC Milan.
French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni of Real Madrid has sustained a sprain in his left ankle following the Champions League match against AC Milan, the club announced in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the medical report issued by Real Madrid, tests performed on the Frenchman this morning confirmed "a sprain in his left ankle," and he is now "awaiting further evaluation."
Tchouameni faced considerable scrutiny from Real Madrid fans after the 3-1 loss to Milan, especially due to his marking error on the first goal and a misdirected pass that led to Milan's second goal under Paulo Fonseca's guidance.
The French international suffered a blow to his ankle from Álvaro Morata in the first half, and although in pain, he managed to stay on the field until halftime. He was then replaced by fellow countryman Eduardo Camavinga.
While Real Madrid has not specified the severity of the sprain, Tchouameni could be sidelined for nearly a month.
