Real Madrid Confirms Rodrygo's Injury: How Long Will He Be Out?
Brazilian Rodrygo Goes joins Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois as absentees for the Clásico against Barcelona.
Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes joins Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois as an absentee for the upcoming Clásico against Barcelona. Medical tests following his injury during the Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund revealed a "muscle injury in the right hamstring," which will keep him sidelined for around 20 days.
An MRI conducted on Thursday morning confirmed the initial fears after Rodrygo’s injury in the Champions League. The Brazilian forward suffers a muscle tear, ruling him out of the Clásico, as well as LaLiga EA Sports matches against Valencia and Osasuna, along with the Champions League tie against Milan.
"Following tests conducted today on our player Rodrygo Goes by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the right hamstring," read the medical statement released by the club.
As a result, Carlo Ancelotti faces four confirmed absences for the Clásico, with Courtois and Rodrygo out due to muscle injuries, joining the long-term knee injuries of David Alaba and Dani Carvajal. The coach is hoping Brahim Díaz can recover in time to be available for the match.
