Rodri Lands in Barcelona and Makes It Clear: “It’s a Dream”
Rodri is already in Barcelona to complete his move to the Catalan giants. The Spanish midfielder expressed his excitement about this new chapter and made his ambitions clear: “The Champions League and going for everything.”
Rodri Hernández landed in Barcelona to complete the final steps before officially becoming a new Barcelona player. The midfielder arrived with his family and was welcomed by fans and members of the media at the private flights terminal at El Prat Airport.
The Spanish international did not hide his excitement about the new chapter in his career. “It’s a dream. I’m very happy to be here and to be able to play with my new teammates,” Rodri said after his arrival. When asked about his objectives, he immediately set his sights on the biggest prizes: “The Champions League and going for everything that comes our way. We have to get to work.”
Rodri Prepares to Complete His Barcelona Move
The next step for Rodri will be to undergo the required medical examinations before completing his move to Barcelona. The midfielder recently underwent a medical assessment in England after returning to Manchester City.

His debut for the Catalan club, however, could be delayed. Following the World Cup, Rodri underwent minor back surgery and will need to complete his recovery and regain match fitness after his vacation.
Barcelona are hoping to finalize the remaining paperwork with Manchester City before officially announcing the deal and presenting their new player.
Barcelona Won the Race for Rodri
The Spanish midfielder’s arrival comes after intense negotiations between the two clubs. According to AS, Barcelona had already reached an agreement with Rodri, but still needed to agree on financial terms with Manchester City.
The Athletic reported that the deal would be worth €60 million guaranteed plus €16.5 million in add-ons, with €11 million of those bonuses considered relatively achievable.
The midfielder had also reportedly attracted interest from other European giants. According to the reports, Real Madrid were among the clubs pursuing his signature, while Paris Saint-Germain also emerged as a potential destination.
However, Rodri prioritized a return to Spain and Barcelona’s sporting project. Another important factor was reportedly the opportunity to reunite with several of his Spain teammates, including Joan García, Eric García, Pau Cubarsí, Dani Olmo, Gavi, Pedri, and Lamine Yamal.
