Crucial Meeting to Decide Ten Hag's Future at Manchester United

The top officials of Manchester United will meet this Tuesday in London to decide the future of manager Erik Ten Hag.
The meeting, scheduled since last week, will include Jim Ratcliffe, owner of INEOS and 27.7% of the club, Omar Berrada, CEO, Dan Ashworth, sporting director, and Jason Wilcox, technical director.
They will discuss Ten Hag's future after a disastrous start to the season, the worst in the Premier League after nine matches, surpassing even the poor start the Dutchman had last season. The Red Devils are currently 14th with eight points after seven matches, closer to the relegation zone than to the Champions League spots.
In Europe, the story doesn't improve, as they have accumulated two draws against Twente and Porto in the Europa League. The late draws against Porto and Aston Villa may have saved Ten Hag's job, although the Dutchman remains the favorite in the betting markets to be the first manager sacked, closely followed by Gary O'Neill, whose Wolverhampton Wanderers sit at the bottom of the table.
When asked days ago by the BBC, Ratcliffe stated that it is not his decision regarding Ten Hag's future.
"It's up to the team that manages Manchester United to decide how to handle the club in various aspects. But this team has only been together since June or July."
Ten Hag's contract runs until June 2026, having been extended for another season this summer. If they choose to dismiss him, United will have to pay around $20 million in severance.
In the short term, his replacement could be his assistant, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who joined the club this summer. The former United striker has experience as an assistant to Guus Hiddink with the Dutch national team, as well as having won two titles in one season with PSV Eindhoven.
