Manchester City: Real Madrid's Nightmare
The Manchester City and Real Madrid will face off once again in the quarter-finals of the 2023-2024 Champions League season.
The quarter-final matches of the 2023-2024 Champions League season have been defined, and one of the duels that has become a "classic" of the Champions League will be repeated: Real Madrid will face the current champion of the competition, Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, in what will undoubtedly be the most attractive match of this knockout round.
However, this duel is one of the most complicated for the Spanish team, as out of the ten times they have faced each other in official Champions League matches, Madrid has won three times (2012-13, 2015-16, 2021-22), lost four times (2019-20 (both legs of the round of 16), 2021-22, and 2022-23), and drawn three times (2012-13, 2015-16, and 2022-23).
Likewise, in the last six matches between these two teams in the Champions League, Carlo Ancelotti's team has only won once and has conceded an average of 1.7 goals per match.
Out of all the teams that Real Madrid could face in this stage of the Champions League, Manchester City was the strongest opponent, as these two teams topped the list of favorites to win the title this year.
