Tyreek Hill, Super Bowl LIV champion, expressed his disappointment this Monday after failing to lead the Miami Dolphins to the NFL playoffs and made it clear that he’s open to leaving the team in search of a more competitive franchise.

A Tough Decision

"This is the first time I'm not in the playoffs. I just have to do what's best for me and my family. Whether it's here or somewhere else, that's why I'm going to open that door. I'm leaving, it's what I feel I need to do," said the 30-year-old wide receiver.

Hill, who had made eight consecutive playoff appearances (six with the Kansas City Chiefs and two with Miami), regretted that the Dolphins missed the playoff race, finishing the season with an 8-9 record.

His Last Game Image

The image left by Hill in Sunday’s loss, the final game of the 2024 season against the New York Jets, wasn’t the best. With the team already eliminated, the receiver refused to return to the field in the final period when asked by head coach Mike McDaniel. "I was told he wasn’t available. They didn’t tell me anything about a new injury. There were guys on the field who were competing," explained McDaniel about the player’s refusal to go back into the game.

Thoughts on His Future

Tyreek Hill clarified that he’ll take time to decide on his future. "At the end of the day, there are a lot of things I need to reevaluate for my career. I just see what I need to do to keep improving as a player and keep having seasons with over 1,000 yards. It is what it is," concluded the receiver.

In the 2024 season, the former West Alabama Tigers star in college football recorded 81 receptions for 959 yards, marking the third time in his nine NFL seasons that he didn't surpass 1,000 yards.
