(VIDEO) Lady Gaga Dazzles in Surprise Musical Performance at the Olympic Opening Ceremony
In a spectacular surprise at the Paris Olympic Games' opening ceremony, American singer Lady Gaga emerged from a specially constructed metro station beside the Seine to deliver a cabaret performance.
The singer and actress boldly sang in French, performing "Mon truc en plumes" by Zizi Jeanmaire, a classic from the 1960s. Dressed in black, she was accompanied by ten dancers holding pink pom-poms, who kept her identity hidden until the climactic reveal, eliciting immediate applause from the audience.
Lady Gaga's performance occurred during the initial stages of the Seine procession, shortly after a mysterious boat carrying children and a hooded figure launched the parade with the Olympic flame from the Austerlitz Bridge.
Her act included a piano, but she played it only briefly, as the main focus was on paying tribute to French cabaret. Despite her participation being kept secret, it had become an open secret due to her numerous sightings in Paris throughout the week.
Her presence added a significant flair to the ceremony, capturing the spirit of Parisian culture and delighting the international audience.
