Camavinga's Difficult Message After His Injury: "I’m..."
The French midfielder posted a message on his social media explaining how he feels after the injury that will keep him out for almost two months.
French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, who was injured last night during Real Madrid's training session in Warsaw—where they will play against Atalanta for the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday—has been diagnosed with a sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
"After tests carried out today on our player Eduardo Camavinga, he has been diagnosed with a sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee. Pending further evaluation," read a brief statement from the club.
Camavinga shared a message on social media on Wednesday:
"I'm very disappointed by this injury and missing the start of the season," Camavinga wrote in a post on his social media accounts.
"I will work hard to come back soon. Thank you for all the messages of support over the past hours, and I also want to wish the team the best for tonight's match. Always thankful to God," the French midfielder added.
Camavinga left the pitch before the end of Real Madrid's training session ahead of the UEFA Super Cup after a collision with his compatriot Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Camavinga, who was heard shouting after the incident, remained on the ground for some moments during a small-sided game on the pitch where the final will be played.
Later, he walked off the field on his own, accompanied by medical staff, while the rest of his teammates continued the session.
Although the club has not provided a recovery timeline, similar injuries are estimated to take between 6 to 8 weeks to heal. As a result, he will not only miss the Super Cup tonight but also the first few matches of his team at the start of the 2024-25 La Liga season.
