Florentino Sees Real Madrid's Winning Cycle as One of the Best in History
Florentino credited this success to the “mix of the world’s best players” alongside “emerging talent.”
Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid, highlighted the club's current success, stating that they are "witnessing one of the most important winning cycles" in their history, driven by a "blend of the best players in the world in their positions and emerging talent."
“This has been another historic year for Real Madrid. We can say we are living through one of the most significant winning cycles in our history. Football will always remember what we have achieved. We’ve won six Champions League titles in ten years. Once again, we’ve experienced magical nights where the Bernabéu becomes a place where the impossible happens, with the certainty until the very last minute that Real Madrid will succeed,” he said during Real Madrid’s General Assembly.
“The 15th Champions League title is a symbol of what Real Madrid represents globally. Without the Champions League, world football wouldn’t make sense. We’re living through a golden era. The legend of Real Madrid has grown immensely in recent years, thanks to the club's efforts during the pandemic, post-pandemic, and amidst international conflicts. We continue to work to ensure that Real Madrid remains a model of management and success,” he explained.
He also sent a message of support and affection to three players recovering from serious knee injuries.
“I want to share words of support and affection for players who have been key to these achievements. Carvajal and Militao will overcome these difficult moments successfully, and we’ll see them back on the field as pillars of this team. All our love also goes to Alaba, who is already in the final stages of his recovery,” he said.
In addition, he expressed heartfelt words for three players who left the club this past summer: Nacho Fernández, Toni Kroos, and Joselu Mato.
“Nacho is one of our greatest academy players. He joined the club at just 10 years old and is an example of Real Madrid’s values, as well as a role model for the young players in our academy,” he noted.
“It will be very difficult to see another player like Toni Kroos, one of the best in our history and one of the greatest legends in world football. We’ll all remember with fondness the incredible tribute he received at the Bernabéu. Dear Toni, thank you for everything you gave us. You know this will always be your home,” he added.
“Thank you, Joselu, a true Madridista and academy player. He can always take pride in being the protagonist of one of those magical nights at the Bernabéu against Bayern Munich. He led us to the final in Wembley,” he emphasized.
Finally, Florentino spoke about the two new signings for this season, emphasizing that French star Kylian Mbappé joined Real Madrid “making an effort that many cannot imagine.”
“To keep winning, we’ve brought in players destined to ignite the passion of all Madridista fans. Mbappé’s arrival was one of the greatest events in football history and will always be remembered. On July 16, we held a historic presentation. Mbappé joined Real Madrid making an effort that few can imagine,” he highlighted.
“Endrick is one of the most promising young talents in world football and will bring us much joy. We’ve already seen his first goals, and we’re confident he’ll become one of the most important players in the history of this club,” he concluded.
