Lyon's Winless Run Extends in Ligue 1
Lyon continue without a win after ten matches in Ligue 1 and remains at the bottom of the competition despite avoiding another defeat in the final moments at their stadium against Metz (1-1), with a goal by Skelly Alvero six minutes from the end.
Four draws and six losses, with one match pending so far this season is their record.
A new setback, another disaster, loomed around Lyon's Groupama Stadium when, in the last quarter of an hour, Gambian player Ablie Jallow received a pass from Guillaume Dietsch and, after great control, executed a shot beyond the reach of Anthony Lopes, putting the visitors ahead, who are second to last in the standings and equally striving for survival.
It was a young player, 21-year-old Skelly Alvero, who saved Lyon. He capitalized on an excellent pass from Rayan Cherki to execute a flawless finish and beat Guillaume Dietsch, who replaced the injured goalkeeper Alexandre Oukidja after 18 minutes.
Lyon remains at the bottom with only four points, trailing six points behind Metz, who are second to last and in the relegation zone. They are seven points away from Lorient, who are in the safety position.
