The team, currently managed by Pep Guardiola, was previously sanctioned by UEFA in 2019, which included a two-year ban from European competitions. This decision was overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, resulting in a reduced fine of €10 million.
However, the CAS ruling does not set precedent for the Premier League, so City would need to appeal to a London court if necessary.
This trial, the most significant in Premier League history, will be conducted by an independent tribunal outside the English competition.
When Does the Trial Begin?
The trial between the Premier League and Manchester City over the alleged 115 financial irregularities will start on Monday, September 16.
