Ancelotti, Awarded The Best as The Best Coach in The World
Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Real Madrid, received the 2024 FIFA The Best award as the best coach in the world this Tuesday. The recognition comes after a season of successes with the team, which won the Champions League, LaLiga, and the UEFA and Spanish Supercups. The Italian could add another title if his team defeats Pachuca in the Intercontinental Cup final tomorrow.
This is Ancelotti’s first The Best award, succeeding Pep Guardiola in this honor. He also becomes the first Italian coach to win it since Claudio Ranieri in 2016, reaffirming his status as one of the best coaches in world football.
In a recent interview, Ancelotti addressed the team’s lack of consistency, stating that the main causes are the lack of "balance" and injuries. "It’s normal that, with changes in key positions like defense, the team isn’t reaching its full potential," he explained, emphasizing that the team is improving.
Despite the inconsistency, Ancelotti expressed being "satisfied" with the progress of Real Madrid, confident that they will be very competitive in the second half of the season. "We’re improving, and we’re going to be very competitive," he stated.
Regarding the Intercontinental Cup final, the Italian coach expressed his excitement and motivation to win the title. "We’re very excited. It’s a unique match, and we’re thrilled to be able to bring the Intercontinental Cup to Madrid," he said.
Ancelotti also reflected on the criticism he has received this season, especially after the arrival of Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid. "Everyone thought it would be a stroll, but that’s not football. Every match requires effort," he said, defending his work and that of his team against high expectations.
